The Department serves a 4½-square-mile area of the Town of Greenburgh known as Hartsdale, operating out of two fire stations. Station 1 is located at 25 South Central Avenue, while Station 2, located at 300 West Hartsdale Avenue, serves as the Department’s Headquarters.

The Hartsdale Fire Department is a multi-role emergency service organization providing a full range of fire, medical, rescue, and risk reduction services to our community.  It maintains a strong connection to its volunteer history, with former members remaining an important part of the organization’s legacy and community presence.

The Department is comprised of 37 career members dedicated to protecting the community. As a fire district, the Hartsdale Fire Department is governed by a Board of Fire Commissioners, who are elected by district taxpayers and are responsible for oversight and administration.
