The Hartsdale Fire District is pleased to announce its 54th Annual Babysitters Course, open to individuals aged 12 and above who have not previously completed the course.

This valuable course serves as a service to our residents and neighbors, providing essential training for aspiring babysitters.  As a babysitter, you are entrusted with the care and safety of children, and your contributions are invaluable.  Our objective is to ensure the safety and security of both you and the children in your care during your babysitting duties.

The seven-night course will be held at Hartsdale Fire Headquarters, located at 300 West Hartsdale Avenue, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, commencing on Tuesday, September 22nd, and concluding on Tuesday, October 13th.

The course will be imparted by Hartsdale Fire Department training instructors, a neonatal nurse, a Greenburgh police officer, and a New York State paramedic.  Classroom lectures will be complemented by instructor demonstrations, visual media, and hands-on training on various topics, including Stop the Bleed, Rescue Breathing, CPR with AED, Infant Care, Fire Extinguishers, and more.  All participants will receive a Babysitter Course handbook and supplementary materials.  

Early registration is mandatory, and the class is limited to 35 students, with priority given to Hartsdale residents. Accepted students will be contacted via phone or email.

Following the completion of the course, the Hartsdale Fire District will make available to the public a list of Babysitter Course graduates who have consented to the sharing of their names. This list serves as a public service for individuals seeking a qualified and responsible babysitter.
