Grill Smart, Grill Safe! 🍔🔥

Nothing says summer like firing up the grill, but a few simple safety steps can help keep your cookout fun and fire-free!

A safety reminder to keep fire pits and torches at least 10 feet away from homes and anything that can burn.

🏠 Give Your Grill Some Space!
Place your grill at least 10 feet away from your home, deck railings, fences, sheds, and overhanging branches. Never use a grill inside a garage, under a covered porch, or on a balcony.

🔥 Create a 3-Foot Safety Zone!
Keep children, pets, toys, lawn games, and anything that can burn at least 3 feet away from the grill at all times.

âś… Stay with the grill while cooking.
âś… Keep a fire extinguisher nearby.
âś… Clean grease and fat buildup regularly.
âś… Make sure the grill is stable and on a level surface.

This summer, let's make great memories—not emergency calls.

đźš’ The Hartsdale Fire District wishes everyone a safe and enjoyable grilling season!
